What is methcathinone
Methcathinone powder (also known as, ethylpropion, or ETH-CAT) is a synthetic stimulant drug from the substituted cathinone family (beta-keto amphetamines). It’s the N-ethyl analog of cathinone (the active compound in khat) and structurally similar to methcathinone (ephedrone) but with an ethyl group instead of methyl on the nitrogen.
APPEARANCE
Generally, this is a powder (crystalline/white to off-white) that can appear light tan/beige when cut, with a fine fluffy/granular texture similar to many other cathinones or amphetamines.
It is odorless or has a slight chemical smell; no specific taste has been reported.
EFFECTS
- High abuse potential — compulsive redosing common.
- Cardiovascular strain, hyperthermia, psychosis at high doses.
- Often cut/adulterated in street powder.
- Withdrawal: depression, fatigue, cravings.
