what is 4 mphp?
4 MPHP (full name: 4′-methyl-α-pyrrolidinohexiophenone, also known as MPHP or 4′-methyl-α-PHP) is a synthetic cathinone, a designer stimulant drug of the pyrrolidinophenone class. It is a cousin of pyrovalerone.
The recreational or illicit stimulant use of 4 MPHP has been documented and circulated as a novel psychoactive substance or “designer drug” on the illicit market, such as a research chemical or “bath salts,” powders, or herbs. The motivation for its use is its psychostimulant properties, such as those of cocaine, amphetamines, or other cathinones, such as euphoria, energy, alertness, sociability, and focus.
It is primarily a monoamine reuptake inhibitor, which means it blocks the reuptake of dopamine and norepinephrine, with some effect on serotonin, and this is how it causes stimulant effects without releasing any neurotransmitters, unlike some other cathinones.
The effects, which are thought to be caused by the drug, include increased heart rate, hypertension, agitation, hallucinations, and wakefulness. However, these have only been studied in animal tests and clinical reports.
